At least I am writing in the same year this time! So many woonderful things have been going on I do not know where to start. First of all, I am the new Publicity Chairperson for the Watercolor Society of Indiana. It is a wonderful job and I am going to help them refine their look and give them some new exciting online promo pieces.
Next, my show schedule is filling up faster than I can paint. I am working on a series now, "If I Only Had One Flower in My Garden: Sunflower Series." Right now all I am painting is sunflowers. I am trying to build a solid body of work for shows and exhibits. It is taxing, but I am taking the approach to working on a few paintings at a time to try and help speed up the process. As all artists know, there is never enough time and so many ideas. For now...

Geez! It has been a long time since I have written anything! Well, this past winter I went through a major soul searching period and decided to learn a roots technique. I went back to straight watercolor on paper. I never really dabbled in that because I always got frustrated and tore up the paper. I finally worked through my frustrations and learned everything that I could about pure watercolor! (I guess more patience comes with age). I read tons of books, took multiple workshops, and researched the heck out of pigments. I am getting better with each piece I put out now. There is something to be said for purest, it isn't easy! I know that now!
I am on the horizon for applying to all of my shows for the summer and fall. I will update my calendar of events accordingly as I am accepted into shows.

My goodness, Christmas is almost around the corner! Right now, I am just finishing up getting ready for my exhibit at the Midday Deli which opens tomorrow! I will be showing there from November until December and then on to Lulu's Electric Cafe' in January. Come out and see the works of art and have a yummy bite to eat!
